In order to meet the needs of complex human resource professional standards it is imperative to provide creative interventions when engaging clients. Among the depth of coaching strategies to utilize is Motivational Interviewing. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidenced based model originated thirty plus years ago by William Miller, PhD of the University of New Mexico and Steven Rollnick, PhD of Cardiff University, Wales. MI provides a foundation to implement client centered engagement conversations that support change. This workshop will introduce the use of MI as a process that deepens conversations that support engagement at the individual and system level. A model of how to integrate MI within a University Human Resource division will be presented.
