Gearing Up for Spring: Deciding What and How to Grade

  1. Wednesday, January 8th, 20142:00pm - 3:15pm

Are there things about how you grade your students that leave you feeling conflicted? Would you like the testing/grading opportunities to be more about the learning? Come explore some ideas that will help motivate your students, promote deeper learning, and make grading less fraught.

As the new year begins and the new semester approaches, it is a great time to reflect on the successes and challenges of our teaching. In these workshops we offer the opportunity to take the time to capture your thoughts on changes needed in your upcoming courses, to think about that new course you will be teaching or to re-think the one you’ll be re-teaching! We will also take advantage of this reflective time to begin work on crafting a philosophy of teaching statement.
