Free Flu Shots
Wake Forest University is offering free flu shots to all faculty, staff, and retirees from September 21 through October 19. Spouses and dependent children (8 years and older), who are enrolled in the university’s BlueCross BlueShield medical plan are also eligible. Speak with your primary care physician to see if the flu shot is right for you. All supplies are preservative and latex-free.
Registration: Advanced registration is required. The deadline to register is by 2:00 p.m. the day prior to the scheduled flu shot clinic.
New this year! Drive-through flu shot clinic: WFU is offering a drive-through flu shot location at LJVM Coliseum (2825 University Pkwy, Winston-Salem NC 27105) to accommodate off-site colleagues, retirees, and family members. All individuals in the vehicle are required to wear a mask. Those receiving a flu shot must be seated at a window or door that can be opened. The drive-through clinic is not recommended for first time flu shots, for those who do not respond well to them, or for those that have anxiety about needles.
Note: Wake Forest University is requiring all faculty, staff, and students to receive a flu shot to help to reduce the burden on resources of the healthcare systems on and off campus while also promoting the health and wellbeing of the campus community. Review the Mandatory Influenza Vaccine Policy for information about documentation and requesting an exemption. Students should contact the Student Health Service for additional information.
