Introductory Mentoring Skills: Mentoring and Leadership
In this workshop for undergraduate juniors and seniors, we will define mentoring, explore various roles and developmental models, and discuss what makes an effective mentor and mentee. Specifically, you will learn skills and techniques for serving as an effective mentor leader within your student organization and among your peers. Using a leadership lens, we will examine what a “culture of mentoring” looks like within an organization and participants will leave with an action plan for creating a culture of mentoring within their student groups.
This workshop is part one in a series of three workshops being offered in Spring 2018. Participants who attend two out of the three workshops (you must attend the full sessions) will receive an Introductory Mentoring Skills Certificate from the Mentoring Resource Center.
