Do you have any troublesome assignments in your courses? Do students complain that they don’t know how to complete an assignment, but you feel like you’ve made yourself perfectly clear? Are you looking for assignment ideas for a new course? During this session, we’ll explore ways to create and evaluate assignments that will satisfy both you and your students.
Feel free to bring existing assignments for review, or ideas for new assignments to share.
As the new year begins and the new semester approaches, it is a great time to reflect on the successes and challenges of our teaching. In these workshops we offer the opportunity to take the time to capture your thoughts on changes needed in your upcoming courses, to think about that new course you will be teaching or to re-think the one you’ll be re-teaching! We will also take advantage of this reflective time to begin work on crafting a philosophy of teaching statement.
