The most practiced and noticeable form of communication is verbal communication, which we know is the imparting or interchanging of thoughts, opinions, or information by way of speech, writing, or signs. And through GateKeepers 1 and 2, which have learned that verbal communication styles are a part of our cultural learning.
However, communication is not just verbal and it is experienced in ways that can easily be missed by the intellectual eye. This type of communication is sensory, intuitive, and is demonstrated through the art of listening. But most of us didn't join the Listening Team we signed up for the Debate Team!
Through "The Art of Communication through Listening," we will explore and practice skills for intuitive (sensory level) listening more fully and accurately so that we can more effectively understand each other (empathy), build rapport (trust), and develop more meaningful connections (relationships).
